Accountants Offer Expert Advice on Company Sales at Seminar
10/09/2008
Business owners considering the sale of their company are being offered expert advice at a breakfast seminar held by London chartered accountants and insolvency practitioners Harris Lipman.
Harris Lipman are teaming up with consulting actuaries Nigel Sloam & Co, RBS Group and solicitors Vizards Tweedie to offer a comprehensive overview of the issues involved in a company disposal.
The seminar, titled I’m a Shareholder, Get Me Out of Here!, will take place in Hendon, London, from 8am on Tuesday, 7 October and will cover topics including:
- getting your business in good shape prior to sale
- valuing your business
- management buy-outs and management buy-ins
- legal considerations
- warranties
- structuring the deal
- the tax implications of different options.
Harris Lipman senior partner Barry Lewis said: “The current challenges of the economic climate may lead to more business owners deciding to bring forward a sale, perhaps to enjoy a well-earned retirement a little earlier than they had originally planned. The decision to sell a company is not one that anybody takes lightly, so it makes sense for anyone considering such a sale to be as well informed about their options as possible.
“We hope that our seminar will provide some useful initial information and food for thought for anyone considering a company sale, although this is certainly an area where it is essential to seek professional advice.
