Lords appeal hearing delayed in dividends test case

The Professional Contractors Group has announced that the House of Lords hearing of HM Revenue & Customs' appeal in the Jones v Garnett ("Arctic Systems") test case will not be heard before 31 January 2007.

This means that taxpayers will have to file their 2006 tax returns without the benefit of a final decision, and will have to rely on existing guidance from the UK accountancy and taxation bodies.
