New Construction Industry Scheme delayed for a year

The introduction of the new Construction Industry Scheme is to be deferred from April 2006 to April 2007.

This is to enable both HM Revenue & Customs and businesses to implement and test systems, and train staff in the new procedures.

Holders of current CIS cards will be able to renew them for a further year.

Contractors and subcontractors should, however, still plan for the introduction of the new scheme in good time.
