Exam Success For Harris Lipman’s Payal

A member of the Business Services Department team at Harris Lipman is celebrating after successfully passing the last of her professional examinations.

Payal Somani took her final Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) papers in December and was informed this month that she had passed, meaning she is now fully qualified in her profession.

She began studying for her exams shortly before joining Harris Lipman in July 2008, and believes her studies will prove particularly useful in light of the major changes set to affect the accountancy profession over the next few years.

She said: “As part of my studies, I learned about the new international accounting standards coming into force in 2011, so this will give me a head start in dealing with those, while knowing about the latest developments in all areas of audit and accounts is a great help when working on these matters for our clients.”

Payal is following in a family tradition, as her father C N Somani is also a chartered accountant, and is delighted with his daughter’s achievements.

Payal said: “My father is very proud of my success here and he’s been an inspiration to me over the years. I’ve had a lot of help and encouragement from my parents, as well as everyone here at Harris Lipman.”
