Harris Lipman Does It For The Kids!
02/07/2010
London chartered accountants and insolvency practitioners Harris Lipman recently did its bit for local youngsters by taking part in the Great Ormond Street charity fun run, Race for the Kids.
A team of eight, headed up by partners Michael Bernstein and Martin Atkins represented the firm at the event in Battersea Park on Sunday, 6 June, and collected around £5,000 in sponsorship and donations.
Hundreds of runners of all ages and abilities, including celebrity supporters, joined in the 5km run, which was followed by a picnic and family entertainment for those who took part.
All money raised by sponsorship goes to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, which provides funding over and above what it receives from the NHS, to help keep the hospital at the cutting edge of child medicine.
Later that month, Harris Lipman staged a screening of England’s World Cup match with Slovenia for staff and clients, with Great Ormond Street again the nominated charity. During the course of the afternoon, two signed football prints were auctioned, raising a further £2,000, which brought the overall amount raised to just over £7,000.
Harris Lipman partner Martin Atkins said: “Our fundraising target for the race was £5,000 and we’re delighted to have achieved this. All of the team taking part in the fun run survived intact and a good time was had by all.
“The screening of the England game provided another opportunity to raise some money for Great Ormond Street and overall we’re delighted to have raised so much for such a worthwhile cause.”
