02/07/2008
A prestigious league table of the UK’s top accountancy firms has singled out North London chartered accountants and insolvency practitioners Harris Lipman as a rising star.
Accountancy Age magazine has published its annual survey of the largest accounting firms, which ranks Harris Lipman just outside the top 50, at number 74, as one of 26 practices highlighted as “the ones to watch”.
Since the firm was founded by Solomon Lipman in 1954, it has grown to seven partners, leading a team of 50, working from its main office in Whetstone, North London, and satellite offices in the City of London, Cardiff, Reading and St Albans.
The firm has a particular focus on all aspects of business development as part of its wide range of integrated accountancy and tax services, with a specialism in insolvency issues, including forensic accounting, which wins the firm regular instructions from HM Revenue & Customs.
Senior partner Barry Lewis said: “Our recognition as ‘one to watch’ by Accountancy Age is very pleasing and a well-deserved reflection of the hard work of the Harris Lipman team in building and developing the practice.
“Our success is based on delivering what we do to the very highest standards, which is a very effective tool in retaining our clients and attracting new business.
“Now we’re looking forward to rising to the challenge implicit in being named ‘one to watch’, with the target of a top 50 slot in the 2009 Accountancy Age rankings.”
