Harris Lipman client wins holiday of a lifetime
25/01/2008
A dream holiday won at a gala dinner has given the travel bug back to a client of accountants Harris Lipman.
Roger Ibbott, who is head of Jugg Foods, a London-based company that supplies 80,000 frozen ready meals a week to the UK pub trade, attended the recent National Youth Theatre (NYT) 50th anniversary dinner as a guest of Harris Lipman.
The firm, which specialises in accounting for clients in the theatre industry, is a long-term supporter of the NYT, an internationally acclaimed organisation working with young people aged 13-21 in the UK.
Harris Lipman took a table at the dinner, which went on to raise £85,000 for the NYT, and invited Roger to join them. During the evening, he bought raffle tickets and was “in shock” when he won the top prize of a two-week holiday for two at the Turtle Bay Beach Club, on Kenya’s Watamu beach. He said: “I have never won anything in my life!”
Roger liaised with the prize organisers so that he could make the holiday a family trip. During the two-week break, they enjoyed activities including a safari and deep sea fishing and had nothing but praise for the way they were looked after by resort staff.
He said: “It was a real holiday to remember. When I was 19, I travelled the world but when you’re in business, it’s difficult to find the time to organise something this exceptional. I’ve definitely got the travel bug again!”
Harris Lipman senior partner Barry Lewis said: “We’re delighted that our support for the NYT resulted in this wonderful prize for Roger and his family. We’re also pleased that the prize that we donated to the raffle – two seats at our exclusive Tottenham Hotspur FC box – raised £800 towards this very worthy cause.”
