Accountants Rise To ‘One To Watch’ Challenge

02/12/2008

London accountants Harris Lipman are responding to the challenge of being tipped as a rising star in the accountancy sector.

Accountancy Age magazine’s 2008 survey of the largest accounting firms ranked Harris Lipman just outside the top 50 as one of a select group of practices highlighted “the ones to watch”.

The practice has grown significantly in recent years and its forward-thinking approach continues to find favour with clients.

In the first nine months of 2008, Harris Lipman added 44 new private and business clients to its books while new partners Neville Chajet and Michael Bernstein, who both joined the practice this year, have brought a total of 313 clients with them.

The firm has also recruited a number of new team members to meet the growing demand for its services. They include audit and accounts managers Anita Goburdhun and Nilesh Pabari, audit and accounts seniors Timothy Gunn, Shafiq Rehman and Ahmed Malik, semi-senior accountant Payal Somani and bookkeeper Gillian Wilson.

Senior partner Barry Lewis said: “Our success is based on delivering what we do to the very highest standards, which is a very effective tool in retaining our clients and attracting new business.

“In the current economic climate, no-one can fail to be aware of the financial and other pressures on UK businesses and a key focus for us is to work closely with our clients to ensure that they are in the best possible shape to withstand a recession and take advantage of a future upturn.”
