Barry Lewis celebrates 40 years at Harris Lipman
05/09/2007

On 5 September 2007 Barry Lewis celebrated the 40th anniversary of
his joining Harris Lipman, with a surprise party thrown by the Harris
Lipman team.
Ashok Shah, the second longest-serving partner, spoke about Barry’s
drive and energy, which had been instrumental in the firm’s success,
and on the enormous changes the firm and the profession as a whole
had experienced over that 40 year period.
Barry commented on how quickly the 40 years had passed, and how grateful
he was for the support of the team, on which the firm’s continuing
success depended.
Those of you who are familiar with the concept of “light years”,
and who know what time Barry arrives at the office each morning, will
understand that “40 Barry years” are equal to 60 or more “ordinary
years”, but we wish him many more happy and successful years
- of both types!
Postscript:
Barry's anniversary made the pages of Accountancy Age, which broke
its usual rule of not featuring such anniversaries, because in this
case it passed their 'interestingness and excitability test'! They
commented: "An 'early riser', Barry often gets to his desk by
4am, and works through to 6 or 7pm. We hope they give Barry a break
and buy him a computer and calculator, as a lack of those fundamental
devices must be the only reason why he has to come in so early!"
