Alternative Solutions is owned by Gina Negus, a former Scotland Yard undercover surveillance expert with many years’ experience of collating evidence in blackmail, kidnap and fraud cases.

Gina is also a company director with many years’ experience of management consultancy and accredited training, and is a human resources professional.

Alternative Solutions has quickly built up a reputation over the past three years as a reliable and discreet operator when it comes to private detective work in family and corporate cases.

And she is certainly making waves in the industry, with business booming and interest from a TV company in making a possible documentary series about her work.

She said: “Many years ago, I specialised in covert surveillance for the government, then for 20 years I ran a management and fundraising consultancy, The Projects Company, but three years ago I’d reached a point where I felt I needed a change and decided to set up an investigative agency, going back to my previous life but this time working for myself.

“The business has taken off very well – we’ve received a lot of interest and publicity, and that has helped us to attract some high-profile clients. The fact that we’re all-female has certainly got us noticed, but we’ve got as many male clients as we have female.

“Michael looks after the accounts for both of my businesses, and he’s been consistent in his support ever since I first turned up with three carrier bags full of receipts in 1986! He’s always given excellent financial and business advice, and he’s been particularly good at keeping me on the straight and narrow, and ensuring my businesses remain in the black.
